CAAT said that airlines will be responsible for checking documents before passengers board the plane. CAAT has published a list of the number of doses required for the various COVID-19 vaccines on its website. The new measure will be in effect at least until the end of January.

The vaccination requirement was canceled by Thailand in October last year but has now been restored when China reopened its borders after easing its zero-COVID policy.

On January 8, government spokesman Traisuree Taisaranakul announced that the first commercial flight from China to Thailand – Xiamen Airlines flight MF833 – will arrive in Bangkok from Xiamen on January 9, carrying 286 passengers.
