Review: Span Suites and Villas, Goa
A villa overlooking the tall coconut trees and Chapora river. Rooms with minimalistic yet elegant decor, a hammock by the swimming pool, and a glasshouse restaurant with a river view. That is something I experienced at Span Suites and Villas during my visit to Goa this time.
In a place like Goa, where you never seem to get over parties, and the beaches are flocked with people day and night, finding your own little space to relax at the end of the day gets a little tricky. I always thought that to find natural beauty and tranquility, South Goa should be the choice. But, how wrong that was!
Do you know the kind of places that you want to call your weekend home? Span suites and villas gave me that comfort and feeling of belongingness.
The USP of the villas lies in its home-like feel and serenity surrounding the property. The place put me in a different world, away from Goa, even when I came back after partying hard. At the same time, it did not take away from me that Goan vibe. Once I entered my villa, the place was magical in its way. I instantly felt at home.
Waking up in the morning to calmness, with only lush greenery outside my villa, and chirping birds being the only noise, my hangover did not require any lemon shot.
Good to know: Span Villas and Suites is close to popular party places like Thalassa, Curlies, etc. Concurrently, you could visit the gorgeous beaches of Anjuna, Ashwem, and Morjem.

Accommodation
Spread over about 2 lakh sq. ft. of land, Span suites and villas houses 33 delightful suites and 14 elegant villas, all equipped with a kitchen, are divided into categories as below:
- One bedroom suite
- Two-bedroom Suite
- Three bedroom villa
- Four bedrooms presidential suite
I had stayed in the three-bedroom duplex villa, which is minimalistic yet modish in every way, just like you would want your weekend home in Goa to be like, the balcony overlooking the Chapora river being the loveliest. A few minutes spent there rejuvenated me for the whole day.
Amenities at Span Suites and Villa
The property has a big swimming pool surrounded by villas, a fitness center, and a spa. The spa was not operational due to the pandemic. However, I could get into the pool.
The property also offers a park for children while the parents can enjoy playing indoor games like pool, carrom, etc.
I admired the horticulture of the property that looks lovely no matter which corner you are relaxing in. You think I am just boasting about it, then look at the photos below.
There is more. Since there are no intercom connections in the room, the reception staff gave us a phone and a Jio dongle for wifi, which we were allowed to carry with us around the whole of Goa.

Food
There are two dining venues at Span Suites and Villas.
- Gazebo – It is a multi-cuisine restaurant
Must try – green peas pulao, dal tadka, aloo jeera, Maharani Kheer, suji halwa
- Varizya – It is a rooftop cafe and bar

Covid-19 Safety Measures
Safety, undoubtedly, is now going to be the primary parameter while choosing where to stay. Many of us have inhibitions running in our minds, which is justifiable. Span Suites and Villas followed the safety measures like temperature check and self-declaration form for COVID 19 adequately.
Moreover, the private villas and suites, with ample space in between them also make it quite safe to visit and stay there.
Conclusion
If your idea of Goa is a quiet space, away from the tourist crowd, Span Suites and Villas would be a good choice. The hotel has all the elements that one would expect from a Goan holiday without burning a hole into your pocket.
