Minnesota State Patrol says both motorists were taken to the hospital after an early morning collision on Highway 61.,

WHITE BEAR TOWNSHIP, MN — Two drivers were injured early Saturday when a Honda CRV and a Toyota Rav4 collided head-on on Highway 61 near Aspen Lane in White Bear Township, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Troopers were called to the scene at 12:59 a.m.

Investigators said both motorists suffered injuries serious enough to require hospital treatment.

Crash Under Investigation

The state patrol said the Honda was traveling northbound and the Toyota was heading southbound when the vehicles collided. Officials have not said what led up to the crash.

The investigation is continuing.

Suspected Impairment Arrest

The Toyota driver, a 25-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence, the patrol said. A blood test is pending.

She was not in custody because she was being treated at the hospital for her injuries.

Condition Of Other Driver

Authorities did not release the condition of the other driver beyond saying the person was taken to the hospital. No additional details about either driver were immediately available.
